A former employee of the President’s Office, whose passport was recently seized in connection with a criminal investigation, has been summoned for questioning by the police.
According to the summons sent today, the individual is required to present themselves at the police station located in Hulhumale' Phase I.
Authorities have not yet officially disclosed details of the criminal allegations being investigated against the former staffer.
Information obtained by Adhadhu indicates that the travel ban was imposed based on a confidential intelligence report submitted to the court by the police. Despite the restriction on travel, no search warrant has been executed at the individual's residence.
It is understood that the investigation is linked to the "Aisha" documentary, which features a former President’s Office employee revealing extramarital relations with President Mohamed Muizzu.
The order to investigate the documentary was issued by President Muizzu himself. Within hours of his directive, police raided the Adhadhu office, seizing laptops and hard drives.
The Criminal Court has also issued orders to withhold the passports of Adhadhu CEO, Hussain Fiyaz Moosa, and Managing Editor, Hassan Mohamed, following a police request. Both Fiyaz and Hassan were summoned to the police station last week as part of the ongoing investigation.
