ADK Hospital, the Maldives' oldest private hospital, has commenced the development of a new 13-story building as part of a major expansion of its services.
Located within the existing ADK Hospital premises in Male', the new facility will feature dedicated parking spaces alongside specialized medical and consultation rooms.
According to the development plan submitted by ADK, the building will include a basement level. The ground floor is designed for the lobby, mechanical parking access, ambulance parking, and a pharmacy. The first through third floors will be dedicated to consultation rooms, while the upper floors will consist of inpatient rooms for admitted patients.
ADK stated that the primary objectives for developing this new facility include:
- Increasing the hospital's bed capacity
- Creating space to introduce additional services
- Upgrading the overall standard of the hospital
- Enhancing patient comfort and operational functionality
The project is valued at MVR 119 million. Construction is estimated to be completed and the facility operational by late 2028 or early 2029.
ADK Hospital originally opened at its current location under its present name in 1996.
