Adhadhu Editor Hassan Mohamed was summoned to the police this morning for questioning regarding a criminal investigation ordered by the government into the "Aisha" documentary.
Accompanied by his legal counsel, Hassan reported to the Sergeant Adam Haleem Investigation Building at 8:30 am.
Adhadhu’s CEO, Hussain Fiyaz Moosa, has also been summoned to appear before the police at 2:30 pm.
Sources indicate that a former President's Office employee, whose passport was seized, has also been served a summons.
"To be summoned due to suspected involvement in the publication of a video report titled 'Aisha' on Adhadhu online on March 28, 2026, with alleged Qazf (false accusation of adultery or fornication) on President Mohamed Muizzu," the police summons stated.
On Tuesday night, police conducted a raid on the Adhadhu office under a court order, seizing electronic equipment.
Furthermore, the Criminal Court has ordered the seizure of Fiyaz and Hassan's passports based on an intelligence report.
The criminal investigation into the documentary was initiated a month after its release, following a press briefing yesterday where Muizzu was questioned about the allegations made in the film. In his response, Muizzu denied the allegations and stated that legal action would be pursued.
