The Maldives Police Service has issued summons to Adhadhu CEO Hussain Fiyaz Moosa and Editor Hassan Mohamed as part of a criminal investigation ordered by the government into the 'Aisha' documentary.
Fiyaz and Hassan are ordered to present themselves to the police tomorrow. Sources indicate that a former President's Office employee, whose passport was seized in connection with this case, has also been served a summons.
"To be summoned due to suspected involvement in the publication of a video report titled 'Aisha' on Adhadhu online on March 28, 2026, with alleged Qazf (false accusation of adultery or fornication) on President Mohamed Muizzu," the police summons stated.
Last night, police conducted a raid on the Adhadhu office under a court order, seizing electronic equipment.
Furthermore, the Criminal Court has ordered the seizure of Fiyaz and Hassan's passports based on an intelligence report.
The criminal investigation into the 'Aisha' documentary was initiated a month after its release, following a press briefing yesterday where Muizzu was questioned about the allegations made in the film. In his response, Muizzu denied the allegations and stated that legal action would be pursued.
