The cabinet was reconstituted tonight, introducing four new members who have not previously served as ministers.

The new appointments follow the resignation of 10 ministers earlier today.

The number of ministries under the current administration has been lowered to 15 from 20, including the Attorney General's (AG) Office. 

The New Cabinet:

  1. Minister of Finance and Public Enterprises, Moosa Zameer
  2. Minister of Homeland Security, Labour, and Technology, Ali Ihusaan
  3. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Iruthisham Adam
  4. Minister of Health, Family, and Welfare, Geela Ali
  5. Minister of Education and Higher Education, Ismail Shafeeu
  6. Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen
  7. Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports, and Fitness, Abdulla Rafiu
  8. Minister of Economic Development, Transport, and Trade, Mohamed Saeed
  9. Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowment, Mohamed Shaheem
  10. Minister of Arts, Culture, and Heritage, Heena Waleed
  11. Minister of Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development, Abdulla Muththalib
  12. Minister of Climate Change, Environment, and Energy, Ali Shareef
  13. Attorney General, Ahmed Usham
  14. Fisheries, Agriculture and, Animal Welfare, Ahmed Shiyam
  15. Defence Minister, (not appointed, reason undisclosed)

Attorney General Ahmed Usham, whose mandate remained unchanged, and Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam, who is currently abroad, did not take their oaths during the ceremony held tonight.

According to reports, Shiyam’s mandate has been revised to include the mandate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare.
