Inmate dies in Hulhumale' Prison

A man who was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Thursday (January 29) died in Hulhumale' Prison yesterday (February 2).

Adhadhu has learnt that the deceased is 45-year-old Hassan Niyaz.

He was found dead inside the prison cell's toilet. Corrections and police have not yet commented on the incident.

The body is currently in the Hulhumale' hospital and has not been handed over to his family.

Hassan Niyaz was sentenced to 25 years in prison for trafficking diamorphine. He spent three years, two months and 29 days in prison pending trial.
