A foreign national has died after falling from the sixth floor of a house in Maafannu district of Male'.
The deceased was identified as Rotan, 47, of Bangladesh. Police said the incident was reported at 6:30pm.
According to reports, he fell down the stairwell. But it is unclear how it happened. Police said investigations were underway.
Rotan was immediately taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) where he was pronounced dead.
There have been many deaths of foreign workers in the Maldives due to poor safety in workplaces.
