Indian Ambassador G. Balasubramanian met Finance Minister Moosa Zameer on Wednesday to review the progress of projects underway with Indian assistance.

He tried to limit ties with India during the first few months in office, but was forced to depend on the neighbouring giant due to financial pressures.
On Wednesday, Muizzu sent birthday greetings to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and "reaffirmed Maldives–India friendship and close cooperation."
