Malé, Maldives: Prison Club wrote their name into the history books as they lifted the Eighteen Thirty Classic 2025 title, defeating Team MACL 1–0 in a gripping final to complete the women’s second-tier futsal tournament unbeaten.
The competition brought together twelve determined sides, but it was Prison and MACL who emerged as the dominant forces, each reaching the final without dropping a game. In the end, however, only one team could stand tall. Prison rose to the occasion, extending MACL’s frustration in the competition after their loss in the 2023 final to WAMCO.
The title decider lived up to expectations, delivering end-to-end drama. Both teams pressed relentlessly in search of a goal, but as the match drew to a close, it was Aishath Lams who made the difference, striking six minutes from time to break the deadlock and clinch victory for Prison Club. The late winner sparked jubilation among players and supporters, sealing a flawless campaign.
Prison’s balance, depth, and discipline were the hallmarks of their success, while individual brilliance also shone through. Aminath Fazla’s commanding display earned her the Queen of the Final award, a fitting recognition of her leadership and impact. On the other side, MACL’s inspirational captain Azina Abdul Matheen finished the tournament as top scorer with 14 goals, underlining her reputation as one of the most lethal forwards in Maldivian futsal.
The tournament also celebrated excellence beyond the final. Health Recreation Club were honored with the Fair Play Award for their sportsmanship, while Prison coach Ibrahim Naeem collected the “Master of the Classic” accolade, credited for masterminding his team’s undefeated run to the title.
Prison’s triumph showcased their dominance and resilience, marking them as the undisputed queens of the Eighteen Thirty Classic.
For MACL, the search for a long-awaited championship continues, as another promising campaign ended in heartbreak.
