A report against journalists who attended the parliamentary committee on independent institutions has been submitted to the general committee.
Deputy Speaker Ahmed Nazim, who chaired today's sitting, said the report was prepared by the Sergeant-at-Arms.
“The chair has received a report prepared by the parliament's Sergeant-at-Arms regarding the act of obstructing the work of the committee and disrespecting the dignity of the parliament," he said.
Nazim said the matter was referred to the committee to include procedures for taking action against those who appear before parliamentary committees.
Journalists who attended the committee were not allowed inside the meeting room. Parliament security officers dragged the journalists out.
The meetings were held behind closed doors because the government-controlled parliament wanted to rush the draconian media control bill.
