Aminath Suzan has resigned as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Maldives Association for Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO).
MATATO announced her resignation on Monday.
Suzan said she resigned to prioritize her own business and thanked everyone for their support over the past months.
She was appointed CEO of MATATO on January 27, 2024. Under her leadership, MATATO underwent many changes, unveiling a new logo and launching a new website.
Besides holding the women's edition of the Maldives Travel Conference, the Welcome India roadshow was also held under her leadership to increase Indian tourists.
Suzan is the former Managing Director of Hotels and Resort Construction. She is the first female executive board member of the Maldives National Association of Construction Industry (MNACI) and an executive board member of the National Federation of Maldivian Employers (NFME).
Her career commenced in the banking sector, where she served as the face of Premier Banking in HSBC Maldives for seven years. She also achieved remarkable milestones in the construction industry, leading one of the major resort development companies in the Maldives.
Suzan represented the Maldives as the Chief Delegate in the 43rd International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Associations’ (IFAWPCA) Convention in South Korea and served as the Chief Executive for the organization of the 45th IFAWPCA Convention held in the Maldives.
