Sri Lankan President Disanayaka begins two-day state visit to Maldives

Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Disanayaka has arrived in the Maldives on a two-day state visit.

President Mohamed Muizzu welcomed Disanayaka upon his arrival at the Velana International Airport (VIA).

According to the President's Office, Muizzu and Disanayaka will hold official discussions to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

This is Disanayaka’s first state visit to the Maldives since assuming office in September 2024.

The Maldives established diplomatic relations with Sri Lanka on 26 July 1965 and this year commemorates the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
