The government has held talks with India to further strengthen economic ties.
The discussions took place during a meeting between Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed and Indian Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal in Male' on Thursday.
"We discussed strengthening trade and investment partnerships between our nations and exploring new opportunities for economic cooperation," Saeed said in a post on X.
Ten Indian officials attended the meeting, including High Commissioner Munu Mahawar.
Almost all essential commodities are imported from India. The Indian government recently increased the quota for these items.
