A plane carrying Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has made an emergency landing after a bomb threat.
The incident occurred on Tuesday. The United Airlines Flight 1169 was travelling from Honolulu, Hawaii, to Los Angeles.
The bomb threat was written on the plane's toilet mirror. The plane was rerouted and landed back in Honolulu after the threat was discovered.
The FBI is currently investigating the matter.

Vice President Hussain arrived in Hawaii on May 15 to attend a program organised by the Blue Planet Alliance. The incident occurred on his return flight to the Maldives.
Passengers were forced to stay back for a long time as the FBI ensured there was nothing dangerous on the plane.
Vice President Hussain is not known to have received any assistance from the government during this incident. The government has not released any information on the matter.
