President Mohamed Muizzu has departed for Singapore on an unofficial visit.
While the President's Office confirmed his departure last night, they did not announce a date for his return.
Muizzu’s departure to Singapore comes while his wife Sajidha Mohamed is currently in the United Kingdom.
Official government authorities have not released details regarding the First Lady's trip. However, amid public speculation, Muizzu clarified that it was a long-planned family visit.
A source told Adhadhu that Sajidha is expected to travel from the UK to Singapore to join Muizzu, after which the family will return to Male' following the Eid-al-Adha holidays.
As the President travels to Singapore, Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef and his spouse are currently in Mecca to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.
