President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that a national effort should be launched to increase employment opportunities for Maldivians.
In his address on the occasion of Labour Day, Muizzu said the country will develop when the entire society works together to provide jobs to Maldivians.
"The entire society should work together to begin a national effort to ensure that no Maldivian is left out," he stated.
He also urged parents and the community to prioritise raising children who are skilled and instilled with a strong work ethic.
“On International Workers' Day, my appeal to Maldivian parents is to pay special attention to raising every child as a work-oriented and active child,” he said.
Muizzu promised that the government would listen to the voice of the workers and would work to increase the income of workers.
