An elderly man has assaulted Vaikaradhoo MP Hussain Ziyad (Fittey).
Fittey told Adhadhu that the old man assaulted him from behind at a funeral in the cemetery.
"I don't know who it was. It was a very angry old man. I found out he hit me intentionally when he came and threatened," he said.
Fittey said he had not reported the case to the police as it involves an elderly man who is known to have angry bursts.
Some social media users have condemned the incident and expressed concern over the assault on the opposition lawmaker.
