Mariyam Wisam, who served as the Registrar of Companies for more than a decade, has resigned.
Adhadhu can confirm her resignation.
Wisam has not commented on the matter and the reason for her resignation is unclear.
Wisam was appointed as the Registrar of Companies under the Economic Ministry on January 28, 2014, during the government of former President Abdulla Yameen.
She completed her higher education in economics in Australia and the UK. She holds a master's degree from the University of Queensland.
Prior to her appointment as Registrar, she served as Director General of the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA).
