Police have announced a search for a Chinese tourist who went missing after visiting the Maldives in October last year.
The missing tourist is a Chinese woman named Su Xiaoning. Police said her family reported the case through the Chinese embassy on January 22.
According to the family, they had not heard from Su Xiaoning since her arrival in the Maldives in October 2024.
Police said the information gathered so far shows that Su Xiaoning arrived in the Maldives on October 13, 2024 under a tourist visa and stayed in a hotel in Male'.
She checked out from the hotel in Male' on the morning of October 24, 2024, but did not leave the Maldives, police added.
Police said they have not been able to find any information about Su Xiaoning or her whereabouts.
They appealed to the public to contact 9911099 at the Serious and Organized Crime Investigation to provide any information related to the case.
