An agreement has been signed to open a Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) sales centre and ATM in Raa Ungoofaaru island.
Ungoofaaru council president Abdulla Rasheed and MIB Managing Director and CEO Mufaddal Idris Khumri signed the agreement.
MIB said it signed the agreement to set up an ATM in Ungoofaaru as part of the government's efforts to expand banking services throughout the country.
The bank said work is underway to establish ATMs in 19 more islands this year in order to expand MIB's services.
MIB earlier established ATMs in Raa Hulhudhuffaaru and Raa Dhuvaafaru islands.
