A total of 5.9 kg of drugs were seized while trying to smuggle them into the Maldives by air.
Customs said in a post on social media that the items were seized on October 31. These included 5,520 grams of cannabis and 416 grams of cathinone.
Customs did not say whether anyone had been arrested in connection with the smuggling.
Home Minister Ali Ihusan said last month that drugs that were previously smuggled by sea are now being smuggled in small quantities by air.
At the press conference held at the President's Office on October 22, police also revealed details of the drugs seized over the past 11 months.
Police Commissioner Ali Shujau said 177 kg of drugs and more than 8,300 bottles of alcohol have been seized.
