Defense Minister Ghassan Maumoon has met with Russian Ambassador Levan Dzhagaryan.
According to the Defense Ministry, discussions were held on bilateral relations and on matters of mutual concern.
During the meeting, Ghassan noted that many Russian tourists visit the Maldives every year and underlined its significance on the country's economy.
Ambassador Dzhagaryan also noted that the Maldives is a popular tourist destination among Russians and expressed willingness to assist the country.
The Russian Ambassador also met with Deputy Defense Minister Mizna Ali and Secretary Bilateral at the Foreign Ministry Dr. Hala Hameed.
