The President's Office has disclosed that MVR 2.4 million was spent on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's visit to New York for the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The President made the visit from September 20 to 29 to address the UNGA. He was accompanied by a large delegation.
According to information shared by the President’s Office, the nine-day trip cost MVR 2,455,583.01. But details of the expenses were not revealed.
The delegation included former Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer, Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim and officials of the two ministries. The total number of officials in the delegation is unclear.
The President held several meetings on the sideline of the UNGA. The President's Office said the meetings facilitated many things for the Maldives, but details have not yet been released.
