The President's Office has declared that chief guests for events organized by ministries must be approved by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
Adhadhu has learnt that the President's Office also ordered Cabinet Ministers to seek the President's approval before accepting invitations to attend an event as the chief guest.
Several sources confirmed to Adhadhu that the order on behalf of President Muizzu signed by President's Office Minister Ali Arif was delivered to Ministers at the end of August.
Sources said Ministers and ministries are now required to officially write to the President's Office regarding the matters of guests of honour at events.
The approval must be sought seven days before the event takes place.
Adhadhu understands that the chief guests for some events have been replaced by the President's Office.
