Liepzig, Germany (September 6): Maldives National Handball Coach Hussain Azham is currently participating in a prestigious handball coaching course hosted by Leipzig University in Germany.

Azham secured a spot in the program after submitting his application alongside three other coaches.

Known for his dedication, Azham was selected due to his strong qualifications in the sport. He has held an IHF Certified B License since 2019.

The course is divided into three phases: Azham completed the initial online phase from August 12 to August 31.

He arrived in Germany four days ago for the second phase, an on-site component running from September 3 to December 20 at Leipzig University. The final phase will be conducted online, from December 23 to January 31.

Handball Maldives President Ahmed Mujuthaba highlighted that this opportunity is a significant milestone for both Azham and Maldivian handball.

Mujuthaba emphasized that the knowledge and skills Azham gains will greatly benefit the Maldives National Team.

Azham began his coaching career with then Junior National Team in 2017 and is a key member of the coaching staff for the Maldives U17 and U19 Women’s Handball Teams, which won bronze medals at last year’s IHF Trophy competitions.
