More than 3,322 undocumented workers have been deported so far, the Home Ministry said on Tuesday.
The ministry said a total of 3,322 foreigners were deported from November 17, 2023, to August 25, 2024.
A total of 257 illegal business establishments operated by foreigners have been raided under Operation Kurangi launched in May. All of the raided businesses have now been shut down.
The businesses include saloons and food outlets.
The Home Ministry aims to resolve the issue of undocumented workers within three years. They will be deported during the first year and will be brought under the legal framework during the second and third years of the operation, Home Minister Ali Ihusan said.
