Maldives has condemned the Israeli bombing of the Al-Tabi’in School in Gaza City killing more than 100 people.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said the attack had led to the massacre of over a hundred displaced Palestinians who had been forced to take shelter at the school.

"Such genocidal actions targeting civilians, including children, is a clear breach of the fundamental principles of international law and international humanitarian law; and 2610 resolution of the UN Security Council," the statement read.

Maldives called on the international community to take decisive measures to stop the attacks on innocent civilians and work towards achieving lasting peace for the people of Palestine.

According to Al Jazeera, the air strike targeted the school during dawn prayers. Many people were taken to hospital but died while receiving treatment.

Israel claimed the school was used as a Hamas headquarters but has no evidence to prove the claim.

The genocide in Gaza has killed nearly 40,000 people since October 2023. Most of the casualties are children and women.

There has been no progress in the efforts to stop the attacks. Israel has refused to agree to a ceasefire.
