The Finance Ministry has failed to release the state's financials records after announcing that the records would be publicized in the last week of July following a reconciliation.
The Finance Ministry last released its weekly fiscal development report on June 20. That was 50 days ago. Since then, there has been no information available on the state income, spending or amount left in the budget.
After remaining silent on the non-disclosure of financial records, the Finance Ministry gave in to pressure from the media, the public and opposition politicians and announced that the issue was due to ongoing reconciliation work.

A notice on the ministry's website claimed that the figures will be released by the fourth week of July. However, a week after this date, no figures have been published on the website.
Meanwhile, the Finance Ministry has recently been acting against the principle of financial transparency. The ministry requested the Parliament to discuss the medium-term fiscal strategy and debt strategy in a closed-door meeting.
The Parliament's Public Accounts Committee has agreed to grant the request. But the previous reports on medium-term fiscal strategy and debt strategy have been publicised on the ministry's website since 2018.
Despite concerns from the public and the opposition political parties, the government and the Parliament have remained silent on the issue.
