Minister Shaheem visits Saudi Arabia

Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed left for Saudi Arabia on Friday.

The Islamic Ministry said Shaheem was visiting Saudi Arabia to attend the ninth session of the special conference participated by the ministry.

Shaheem was accompanied by Islamic Center Chief Imam Mohamed Latheef and Senior Political Director Imthithaau Abbas.

The conference will be held in Mecca from August 4 to August 5. However, the ministry did not disclose any details about the conference.

This is Shaheem's sixth visit to Saudi Arabia this year. He is scheduled to return to the Maldives on August 7.

Shaheem's visits to Saudi Arabia this year:

January - to attend the Hajj Conference
March - to attend the OIC meeting
April - for the Muslim World League Supreme Council meeting
May - Umrah trip with the first couple
June - went on Hajj pilgrimage

Shaheem also went to Gambia as President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's representative to attend the OIC summit in May and paid an official visit to China in June.
