The Foreign Ministry has urged Maldivians living and travelling to the UK to exercise caution.
The ministry said the Maldives High Commission is closely monitoring the ongoing anti-Muslim protests and activities following the tragic stabbing of three children at a dance and yoga class in Southport.
The ministry urged Maldivians living in the UK and travelling to the UK, especially those living in Southport and surrounding areas, to exercise extra caution.
"The ministry requests all parties to exercise extreme caution, always obtain the latest information and give priority to their own safety," the Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry also advised Maldivians to stay away from sensitive areas and follow all the instructions given by the relevant authorities in the area.
Maldivians are advised to contact the High Commission of Maldives in the UK at (44) 02072242135 in case of any consular assistance.
