A man kidnapped from a guesthouse in Male' and kept in a house was rescued in a operation conducted by police on Thursday night.
On Friday, the Criminal Court remanded three suspects arrested after the victim was rescued to 10 days in custody.
The suspects were three Maldivian men aged 22, 27 and 30, police said. The victim was also a Maldivian man.
According to the arrest warrant, the victim was forcibly taken out of his guesthouse room. Some items in the room were damaged in the process.
The victim was taken away on the back of the motorcycle of the 22-year-old suspect, police said.
