Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed’s younger brother Ahmed Shifaz Ali Saeed has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Tourism.
President's Office Spokesperson Heena Waleed declined to comment when contacted by Adhadhu.
However, according to the President's Office, 10 people have been appointed as Deputy Ministers of Tourism and Ahmed Shifaz is listed on the website.
Meanwhile, Shaheem’s son Abdulla Mahil Shaheem was recently appointed to a senior position at the Maldives High Commission in Malaysia.
Mahil gets a remuneration of MVR 100,000 per month as salary and allowances. He lives in Malaysia with his wife and child.
Minister Shaheem's wife Fatimath Afiya is a member of the Governing Board of the Male' City Group of Hospitals.
