The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has signed an agreement with the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) to boost tourism between the Maldives and India.
The agreement was made to facilitate travel and cultural activities between the countries by using the respective networks and resources of the associations, MATATO said in a statement.
MATATO said joint events, roadshows and fairs will be in organised in both countries to promote bilateral tourism through joint marketing initiatives.
Large events will be held across India in collaboration with IATO to advertise Maldives tourism in India, MATATO said. The locations include Mumbai, the capital New Delhi and Bangalore.
IATO is an association that represents more than 1,800 tour operators in India. The group of travel and tour operators has entered several global partnerships to ensure a good holiday experience for tourists visiting India.
