An easier process has been introduced for passport collection without long waiting times after work visa issuance.
In the past, foreign workers granted work visas were required to attend the Immigration office at a particular time, take a physical token and wait in a queue to collect their passport. For more ease and convenience, Immigration on Sunday streamlined the process to minimize long waiting times.
With effect on Sunday, tokens for passport collection will be issued online via the "Ant Queue" application, Immigration said in a press statement.
The change was made to resolve issues based on complaints from applicants, the agency said.
As such, tokens can now be taken online from "Ant Queue" at the appointment time and the app will show the order in which the queue is being served.
How to take tokens from the "Ant Queue" application:
- Those collecting five or fewer passports must request a token between 9 am and 10:30 am. The service hours will be between 10 am to 3 pm.
- Those collecting six or more passports must request a token between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. The service hours will be between 1:15 pm to 3 pm.
To take the token, applicants must refer to their submission receipt, enter the PPH number or box number, and upload a photo or file of the submission receipt.
The new process offers more convenience and saves time for applicants, Immigration noted.
