The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is investigating 14 out of 16 complaints submitted in connection with next week's parliamentary elections, the commission said on Monday.
ACC media official Hassan Manik told Adhadhu that the commission has so far registered 14 cases and initiated probes.
Complaints related to the elections include campaigning with state resources, offering bribes in the campaign and violating the rights of candidates.
The commission urged the public to file complaints if a corruption case is observed in relation to the Majlis elections.
Complaints can be filed through a special portal set up for the elections.
Cases involving the governing People's National Congress (PNC) using state resources for campaigning and actions that could infringe the electoral rights of opposition candidates have surfaced in recent days.
The Elections Commission (EC) is also investigating cases after complaints were made.
A total of 368 candidates are contesting for 93 constituencies in the April 21 parliamentary elections, including 130 independent candidates and 22 female and 216 male candidates from seven political parties.
