The government has decided to consult recipients of plots from Gulhifalhu under the previous administration's housing scheme over changes made to the island's land use plan.
The consultation meeting will take place on March 14, according to an announcement gazetted by the Housing Ministry last Thursday. The new land use plan has not been finalized, the ministry said.
The time and place for the meeting will be announced later, the ministry said, urging Gulhifalhu land recipients to register if they wish to participate.

Speaking in Parliament's National Development and Heritage Committee on February 14, Housing Minister Dr. Ali Haidar said land use plans were made before without any plan and that the government has now devised new plans.
"Plots were awarded from Gulhifalhu and Giraavaru before without any kind of definite plan. We have now made plans and finalized them. We have completed preparing land use plans for those places in a way that people could live there. God willing, we will make them public very soon," Haidar said.
The locations of the awarded land plots are likely to change with the new land use plans. The government has not yet stated how it would proceed.
The previous government decided to award land plots to 97 percent of applicants. That is 9,001 plots for 18,955 people. The plots are to be handed over from Gulhifalhu and Giraavaru as well as from Hulhumale' phase two and three.
