The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has called on the government to stop using state resources to campaign for parliamentary candidates.

In a press release, ACC called on all groups to refrain from actions that lead to corruption while campaigning for the parliamentary elections.

The watchdog called on the government to not use state resources, in violation of laws, rules and regulations, to seek support for candidates.

Meanwhile, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is currently making "official" trips to the atolls where he has been speaking about the importance of Parliament majority for the government and urging people to support government candidates.

Additionally, the government-owned Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) congratulated candidates of the ruling People's National Congress (PNC) and gifted tuna cans.
