President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Tuesday met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Vice President, Prime Minister, and Minister for Defense of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit 2024.
According to the President's Office, President Muizzu and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum engaged in comprehensive discussions on a number of issues of mutual interest to the two countries.
The issues discussed by the pair included climate change and energy sustainability as well as strengthening relations between the Maldives and the UAE in trade and tourism.
"The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both leaders expressing their shared aspiration to continue strengthening the amicable relations between the Maldives and the UAE," the President's Office said.
