Ahmed Saruvash Adam, the official in charge of the annual budget drawn up by the Finance Ministry, has resigned.
Saruvash confirmed his resignation to Adhadhu.
Saruvash said he believed it was the right time for a change to a different post after having served in his post at the Finance Ministry for more than eight years.
“I feel this is the right time to go to a different field where I can serve more productively than now,” he said.
Saruvash said he would remain in the post for one month after submitting notice of resignation to the Finance Ministry.
Head of the Finance Ministry’s fiscal affairs division, Saruvash was the top official in charge of formulating the budget during the past two governments as well as for the first year of the current government.
