The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) on Tuesday appointed new managing directors to 21 government-owned companies.

The delay in appointing managing directors after the change in government was caused by the lack of a quorum of PCB members to hold a meeting when President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu assumed office.

President Muizzu reconstituted the board on Sunday and removed the legal obstacle to appointing company bosses. The PCB has since handed over management of the companies to the individuals chosen by the new government.
