The Indian Ambassador to Maldives, Munu Mahawar met with the Speaker of the Parliament, Mohamed Aslam today.
During the meeting, Aslam noted that India has a long-standing relationship with Maldives and is an important partner in the country's development. Aslam also thanked the Indian government and people for their assistance to Maldives.
Aslam highlighted the assistance and training opportunities provided by the Indian Legislative Assembly to the Parliament and said that he would work towards strengthening the relationship between the Parliament and the Indian Legislative Assembly, the Lok Sabha.
The Indian Ambassador expressed his hope that the long-standing friendly relations between Maldives and India would be further strengthened. The Ambassador said the country will always participate in Maldives development efforts.
