Urbanco on Wednesday took over ‘The Gardens’ luxury apartments under development in Hulhumale’ phase one by Jaah Investments (formerly Jausa Construction) to complete the unfinished work.
Work on the ‘The Gardens’ resumed under Urbanco’s supervision after a long period where construction remained stalled.
Urbanco said in a press statement on the subject that finishing work on floors below the 10th floor is now underway, including work involving plastering, putty, tiles and ceiling.
Work on the unfinished building will be completed in the next six months, Urbanco said.
Urbanco and Jaah Investments signed an agreement to develop the apartments in 2017. Construction proceeded rapidly at the start and the structure was completed in three years, after which interior finishing work began.
But work came to an almost complete halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite construction resuming and Jaah offering various dates for completion, the apartments remained unfinished.
The Gardens features 83 luxury units, including 28 suites and 55 villas.
