A fire broke out at the Vega Point shop in Male' in the early hours of Wednesday, completely destroying all items inside and 15 motorcycles parked outside.
The fire at the shop in the Galolhu ward was reported at 4:37 am, according to the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF). The cause of the fire has not been identified yet.
The military's firefighters were able to put it out around 6:40 am, the MNDF said.
All the items in the shop were completely destroyed and 15 cycles in front were also burnt down.
No one was harmed in the fire incident, the MNDF confirmed. But the house behind the shop was also severely damaged.
