Year-on-year inflation remains at 2.3 percent

Despite an increase in commodity prices in July compared to June, year-on-year inflation remained at 2.3 percent, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.06 percent in July from June, according to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report released by the National Bureau of Statistics. Inflation stood at 0.10 percent in the previous month.

The biggest increase in prices during July was recorded in sea transport and vegetables. Prices also rose for fruits, fish and road transport. But prices dropped in electricity, air transport and communications services.
