SAFF Championship matches to be broadcast on Yes and Ice TV

Medianet and PSM have signed an agreement for the coverage of the biggest regional football tournament, SAFF Championship, underway in India.

Under the agreement, all the matches of the SAFF Championship will be broadcast live on Medianet's Yes TV and Ice TV channels.

Medianet's chief marketing officer Riaayath Abdul Majeed and PSM's connect and digital broadcast network operation director Ibrahim Iqbaal signed the agreement during a ceremony at Medianet office on Tuesday.

Riaayath said as the biggest entertainment provider for Maldivians, the company broadcasts the world's top competitions so it is a big aim to bring tournaments directly connected to Maldivians.

"While the SAFF Championship is connected to Maldivian blood, Medianet is pleased to play a big role in bringing this event to Maldivians," Riaayath said.

In the first match, Kuwait is up against runner-up Nepal. In the second match today, India will face Pakistan at 7 pm.

The Maldives national football team is contesting in the hopes of bringing home gold for the third time. The team's first match is against Bhutan tomorrow night 7 pm.
