An eight-year-old boy has been found dead in a pool at the Coco Bodu Hithi Resort in Male’ atoll.
Adhadhu can confirm that the deceased was an Indian child. The child was found in an indoor pool at the resort early yesterday evening.
The family of the deceased arrived in the Maldives yesterday afternoon for a holiday.
The cause of the child's death is unclear. The resort could not be reached for comment and police have not yet commented on the incident.
Coco Bodu Hithi is a 44-villa resort. It is 40 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport. A lot of villas in the resort have private pools. It was not confirmed whether the child was found in a water or beach villa.
