STO brings down petrol and diesel prices

State Trading Organisation (STO) has reduced the prices of petrol and diesel.

The company announced a decrease of 41 laari per petrol litre and 63 laari per diesel litre starting Friday.

The new rates will be applied at all fuel sheds of Fuel Supply Maldives (FSM), a subsidiary company of STO.

With the new announcement, the price of a petrol litre has come down to MVR 14.73 from MVR 15.14 and the price of a diesel litre is down to MVR 15.07 from MVR 15.70.

At the start of the year, a petrol litre was sold for MVR 15.97 and the price of diesel was at MVR 16.32 per litre. The rates were determined in August last year.
