Police find over 40kg drugs hidden underwater

Police on Thursday found a significant amount of drugs hidden underwater near Faafu Filitheyo resort.

Police said they conducted an operation near the resort based on a tipoff that drugs were hidden underwater.

A large quantity of drugs were confiscated, they added. But they have not yet disclosed the amount or weight of the confiscated drugs.

Adhadhu understands that the confiscated drugs weigh over 40 kilograms.

Some reports suggest that the drugs were found by a fishing boat from Faafu Feeali island, which then reported the discovery to the police.
