Urbanco is getting ready to launch and operate the Maldives’ first smart parking zone.

The car park north of the Hulhumale’ ferry terminal has been redeveloped with new technology.

Urbanco announced that parking spaces in the zone will be available for rent and that they will soon be opening up applications for the public.

People who reserve spaces can go to the parking zone and the boom barrier will open automatically using a computer vision-enabled camera after reading the car’s number plate.

Urbanco said the technology was developed using artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the zones service would be available at all times. The company would also operate security cameras in the zone.

The zone was developed with parking spaces for short-term and long-term use, as well as disability parking.

Urbanco has developed a parking app for people who need to park for short periods of time. The company claims that the app will be convenient for customers.

The app is available on iOS and Android devices. It will show vacant spaces and prices. Users can reserve their desired spot through the app.

The app can also be used to navigate to a parking space, view the profiles of users, and receive notifications when parking spaces become available.

Urbanco announced that this zone is just the start and that more smart parking zones will be opened in other parts of Hulhumale' in the future.
