The third phase of road development and a project to build 50 housing units were launched in Thinadhoo city on Tuesday (March 24).

The projects, ahead of the April 4 local council elections, were inaugurated by Housing Minister Dr Abdullah Muththalib. MPs representing Thinadhoo attended the inauguration ceremony.

Under the third phase of road development, 50 roads will be modernized and drainage systems will be installed within four years.

The project, worth more than MVR 34 million, is being carried out by the Road Development Corporation (RDC).

The 50 housing units will be constructed by Swift Engineering Company, owned by Thinadhoo North MP Saudhulla Hilmy.

The project, worth MVR 64.79 million, is scheduled to be completed in one year and two months. Each housing unit will have three bedrooms.
